THE STORY OF A DRAWING COMPETITION

Designing a new collection is a long process, and a lot of work goes into the final products - probably more than most people think.

We arranged a drawing competition back in November 2019 on Facebook, where we asked for children’s drawings that we could use as prints for our Autumn/Winter collection in 2020. Our design team wished to see drawings of things found in the nature of autumn or in outer space.

READY FOR NEW ADVENTURES

We received so many wonderful, cute and fun drawings. Some of them did not fit the collection back then, but have instead been saved and brought out again, when the Autumn/Winter21 collection was designed. This collection’s theme is “New Adventures”, which refers to the little adventures to the local forest as well as the bigger dreams about going on crazy space journeys - and for this, two of the drawings simply fitted perfectly. Read more about our thoughts behind the AW21 collection.

Among others, we received the two drawings that we chose for our long-sleeved T-shirts, Luca Lt and Vigga Lt. The wonderful drawings of a hedgehog and a spaceman have been transferred almost directly to the print and just slightly adjusted to fit a T-shirt and match the POMPdeLUX style.

A HEDGEHOG AND A SPACEMAN

The hedgehog motif was drawn by Sia, who was 11 years old back then, and the cute little woodland creature fits right into the collection's theme of the forest and nature's animals. It is a cute drawing with a simple stroke that we have used on both the boys’ and the girls’ T-shirts. On the girls’ T-shirt we also added small silver strokes to the drawing.

SPACEMAN

The little spaceman fits perfectly in the space narrative, that can be found on many of the boys’ T-shirts and sweatshirts in Autumn/Winter21.

August Bo, who was 7 years old, when he sent us the drawing of the little spaceman, must have a lively imagination! He had drawn a whole scenery from outer space with planets, a spaceship and an astronaut. We fell in love with the cute, green alien, which we picked out and transferred to the T-shirt.

Our print is not as colourful as the drawing, though, and has a simpler look. The little spaceman fits perfectly in the space narrative, that can be found on many of the boys’ T-shirts and sweatshirts in Autumn/Winter21.

The two nice, soft T-shirts are available in a range of colours and can be worn with many different styles. Hopefully, the wonderful prints will awaken the imagination of other children, too, and inspire them to go on new adventures.
